Employment law
in Arizona is governed by a complex system
of federal and Arizona state law. Because most
claims must be brought quickly, you should not
delay the decision to contact an Arizona
employment law attorney.
In Arizona, unless there is a written agreement between an employer and employee specifying the terms of employment, the parties share an at-will relationship. This means that an employer enjoys a great deal of freedom with regard to its right to hire and fire employees. Hiring and firing decisions, however, may not be for any reason. If the reason violates federal or state law or a termination comes close in time after an employee has asserted his or her rights under federal or state law, the employee may have a claim against the employer. Employers are also not permitted to harass an employee for certain reasons addressed by federal law.
